FLIPGRID
Flipgrid is a social learning platform that allows educators to ask a question, then the students respond in a video. Students are then able to respond to one another, creating a “web” of discussion.
In the foreign language classrooms it can be used effectively for homeworks. In this way , students can practice their skill of speaking and improve their rhetoric.

Hello everyone!

I posted my podcast on Soundcloud.
AUGMENTED REALITY (AR)
What is AR ?
Augmented reality (AR) is an interactive experience of a real-world environment where the objects that reside in the real world are enhanced by computer-generated perceptual information, sometimes across multiple sensory modalities, including visual, auditory, haptic, somatosensory and olfactory.
I have tried AR by a website named Xr+
You can visit the site .You don't have to dowload an app to experience augmented reality .
There are a lot of options but I chose the perfume bottle (I don't know why.)
I needed todirect my camera to the pattern in order to view it.So I opened the item from my laptop and used my phone to view it.
As conclusion`;
Mission completed !
How AR can be used in foreign language classrooms ?
Like I have mentioned in my VR post , you can use AR in nearly the same way or mixed reality (combination AR and VR ).
I have found a video from YouTube about it.You can understand better via this video.

BLACKBOARD
Blackboard Learn (previously the Blackboard Learning Management System) is a virtual learning environment and learning management system developed by Blackboard Inc.
Blackboard is a tool that allows faculty to add resources for students to access online. Powerpoint, Captivate, video, audio, animation, and other applications are created outside of Blackboard and added into Blackboard courses for students to enhance teaching and learning efforts.
EDMODO
Edmodo is the premier social media and learning platform for teachers and students .It is also known as “Facebook for school” .
With Edmodo, teachers can truly bring the classroom online. With the ability to give assignments, quizzes and polls to students, Edmodo users can manage their classes and all of their activities in one place.Teachers can embed instructional videos, create learning groups for students, and manage calendar events.
I first used Edmodo in university.Our teacher wanted us to read the topics and write summaries of them and share them on Edmodo.
You can understand why it is called Facebook for school if you look at this.
VIRTUAL REALITY (VR)What is virtual reality ?
Virtual Reality (VR) is the use of computer technology to create a simulated environment.
Virtual Reality’s most immediately-recognizable component is the head-mounted display (HMD).
My experience with vr;
In a class of Educational Technologies , our teacher brought us Vr headsets.After he taught us Vr technology and Vr's history , he handed out the headsets for us to try. We first dowloaded Vr applications .I first tried one with which you are parachuting.Then , I tried the job interview one .I was in a meeting room with four people who are interviewing me. I think it can be really helpful for people who are too anxious in interviews and needs to do practice .
What we experienced in Educational Technologies class was unforgettable.It was fun.It was interesting .It was catchy. As far as I know there is not plenty of sources for language teaching in virtual reality but we can start to create them instead of old,boring coursebooks.We have to keep up with the future as teachers of the future !
Here is an example;
Pinterest is social media network that allows users to share images associated with project, goods, and services, and to visually discover new interests by browsing images others have posted.
People typically pin or save images they found on the web (or on Pinterest itself) to different boards (used to categorize their image collections).
In Pinterest you can find a lot of very useful and creative tools to use in the clasroom . You can print them and hand out or hang upon the wall as posters (peripheral learning).You can find classroom activity ideas too.I think Pinterst is an endless source for creative ideas .Feel free to use these ideas in the classroom for a more effective learning.If you want to see an example ,you can look at the board I created about English Literature on Pinterest. You can click here .
